Smart Assistive Technology Seminars with Leading International Expert
Community Resourcing is pleased to once again exclusively bring Dr Kevin Doughty back to Australia for some public and client specific Masterclasses.
Dr Doughty is widely recognised as a world leading advisor on incorporating new models of care services through the use of emerging and available technologies. Dr Doughty is Director of the Center for Home Usable Technologies at the Universities of Newcastle ,Coventry and York.
This one day event, in Brisbane comprises of two Workshops, and a variety of interactive displays.
The first Workshop, Wear to from Now – The Application of Wearable Devices in Community Care Services will educate attendees on the role of Wearable Devices and where they have not been explored in community care settings particularly in their roles of promoting independence, assisting with rehabilitation, as well as their application in general settings in community and health care.
This seminar will outline a range of considerations including;
•International Trends in wearable devices
•Consumer uptake and what this may mean for discerning customers of community care
•The Benefits and Challenges of their application
•Where do wearable devices fit into the current scheme of Assistive Technology
•The range and application of wearables on the market
•Practical implementation considerations
•Where will wearable technologies fit into consumer driven and National Disability Insurance schemes
Duration; This session will run from 11am until 3pm. (10:30am registration and interactive displays), this includes a lunch break with another chance to view the interactive displays.

Our second Workshop for the day, Standards & Quality - Application of Smart Assistive Technology will address issues around Standards & Quality with an emphasis on the application of Smart Assistive Technology. This seminar will outline a range of considerations including international considerations and opportunities for Service Providers around quality & standards particularly in the area of Telehealth and Telecare.
Duration; This session will run from 3:30pm until 5pm. This will include a discussion over wine and cheese.
