Early warning systems that include sensors help elderly people live longer in the community. These sensors help detect gait change, decline in functional activities, and activities of daily living that are early indicators of changes in condition that can lead to disastrous falls and hospitalizations.

During this presentation Dr. Alexander will discuss ongoing research by researchers in the Center for Eldercare and Rehabilitation Technologies (Eldertech) University of Missouri, which has been actively working with elderly people in the community since 2005.
