Join Us at The Aged Care Industry IT Council Technology Roadmap for Aged Care Launch

The Aged Care Industry IT Council (ACIITC) are launching the Technology Roadmap for the Australian Aged Care Sector. This Roadmap will ensure older people are able to remain independent for longer with choice and control over the support services they receive.

Hosted by: Pat Sparrow, CEO Aged & Community Services Australia and Sean Rooney, CEO, Leading Age Services Australia.

Speakers: Minister Ken Wyatt and Shadow Minister for Ageing Julie Collins

Light lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The Technology Roadmap, developed by the Flinders University Medical Device Research Institute on behalf of ACIITC, outlines the solutions governments will require to deliver the Aged Care Roadmap reforms. The Aged Care Roadmap presents the Government’s Aged Care Sector Committee’s views on the short, medium and long-term actions required to transform the current aged care system into a sustainable, consumer-driven and market-based system. The Technology Roadmap identifies areas requiring IT.

  • Further reforms will depend on consumers being able to use technology in order to maintain independent lives or access services.

  • Increasing consumer choice and control will depend on engaging consumers in decision-making with aged care service providers.

  • Aged care organisations will need to uptake IT in the provision of care.

  • The aged care workforce will need to upskill its technology literacy.

This event will also allow attendees to see a range of new technologies and how they are helping older Australian’s maintain their independents and social connections.
