Tech Savvy Seniors Program

The evolution of modern technology has drastically changed the way people operate, both personally and professionally. With new developments every day it can be difficult to stay up to date with the latest in technological advancements. Telstra has recently introduced a program called the ‘Tech Savvy Seniors’ to provide older people with the skills and confidence to use technology in a number of ways.

The program is particularly targeted towards those who live in regional and remote areas of New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland but it is available for anyone and everyone. Some of the lessons they teach are how to use technology for socialising, accessing important services, such as healthcare, and conducting personal business. Telstra offers both online training and face-to-face training, depending on the participants’ personal preference.

Telstra has formed a partnership with the Government from New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria to bring the program to life. Further training is offered by other organisations working alongside Telstra. These include Broadband for Seniors’, Go Digi and Australian Seniors Computers Clubs Association (ASCCA).
