NDIS learning goes online!
Queenslanders with intellectual or learning disability will now be able to get ready for the NDIS from wherever they live, with the launch of an online workshop.
My Learning Passport is based on the successful face to face Plan ahead workshops for people with intellectual or learning disability, delivered around Queensland in 2015.
It is part of Queenslanders with Disability Network’s (QDN) Ready to go project, an NDIS Participant Readiness activity funded by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services.
The series of 8 short videos features presentations by two peer facilitators Sam Matheson and Kane Wojicicki (pictured above), graphic animation and activities, fun and games along the way.
People will learn about the Pathways to the NDIS, choice and control, the life domains, the planning conversation, what is reasonable and necessary and managing their plan.
Participants can learn at their own pace, on their own, or with the help of a family member, friend or support person.
My Learning Passport resources include a participant workbook and supporter’s guide. Both are available for self-printing, or by calling QDN on 1300 363 783.
Audio versions are available for people with vision impairment, and DVDs will also be available soon for those without internet access.
You can find the videos and resources on the QDN website.
