Australian Digital Inclusion Alliance

The Australian Digital Inclusion Index shows that, while online participation is increasing across Australia, gaps continue to exist between those who are digitally included and excluded. These gasp are linked closely to social exclusion and disadvantage.

The Australian Digital Inclusion Alliance (ADIA) is an organisation that seeks to harness the collective skills, knowledge and capabilities of organisations across the country to reduce the digital divide. Digital inclusion is based on the premise that all Australians should be able to make full use of digital technologies– for health and wellbeing, access education and services, organise their finances and to connect with family and friends, no matter where in the world they live.

ADIA operates on a shared value model with people and organisations contributing their effort, knowledge and resources toward their shared vision. The ADIA is currently supporting efforts to:

  • Raise awareness of the issue of digital inclusion in Australia

  • Build momentum to address digital inclusion as a major public policy issue

  • Accelerate collective action in three critical areas of Affordability, Digital Accessibility and Digital Ability

If you’d like to be involved you can become a member of AIDA. Membership is open and inclusive. A key underlying value of the alliance is to welcome all contributions that organisations are willing and able to make. The link to their website is below.
