Carers Week launches

Carers Queensland has officially launched National Carers Week on 9 October at the Queensland Museum, Brisbane.

The audience of carers and state officials heard a inspirational key note speech from Diane Ames, carer to her husband Matthew, and were entertained by singer Rhonnie Tant, a former carer who this year graduated with for her Cert III Aged Care qualification after studying with Carers Queensland.

National Carers Week aims to recognise and celebrate the nation’s 2.8 million carers. Next week, Carers Queensland will be hosting over 40 local events to celebrate, as well as releasing the findings of their new carer Quality of Life report.
